BOTHELL, WA– November 16, 2011– Sonosite, Inc. (Nasdaq:SONO), the world leader and specialist in bedside and point-of-care ultrasound, today announced the appointment of Richard Salzar as the Vice President and General Manager of Europe, Russia, and Africa.

Mr. Salzar has years of experience in the healthcare industry and has served in leadership positions in sales, marketing, product management and operations. He began his career at IMED Corporation, which later merged with Alaris Medical Systems, Inc. and Cardinal Heath, Inc. At Cardinal Health, Mr. Salzar served as the Vice President of Safety Disposables within the North America Business Unit. He was also the Vice President of Strategic Marketing of Alaris’ international products and directed the European and global programs. Most recently, Mr. Salzar was engaged in the development and licensing of intellectual property as he served as the President and Founder of Ventana Consulting International and Renaudia Medical, LLC.
