Sonosite’s International Symposium on Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Brazil was a huge success -- two of the biggest events in Sonosite history!
There were over 450 total registrants for both Sāo Paulo and Rio De Janeiro. 150 for São Paulo and 300 attendees for Rio De Janeiro’s symposium. The 2nd half of the symposium consisted of three educational workshops that the participants could choose from.
Topics for each workshop varied due to the attendee list and venue size for each workshop. Each workshop consisted of a local physician presentation followed by two hours of hands on scanning where attendees were able to test drive each of the different Sonosite systems stationed around the room.
The intent behind the different offerings was to show how Sonosite is committed to the advancement of Point-of-Care ultrasound and their continued source for educational training.

Visual Medicine
In order for Sonosite to meet that commitment, we have developed a continuum of educational courses called Visual Medicine. They will be offered in different cities around Brazil in all of our core market segments. Along with our Visual Medicine Programs we have a Central Line Management program available for those customers who would like to standardize throughout their facilities on the importance of using ultrasound for all of their central and peripheral line placements.Attendance and Objectives

Simulation Session
A percentage of the registered attendees participated in afternoon workshops filling the event to capacity; while the remainder of attendees participated in an afternoon Simulation Session. The Sim session was designed to demonstrate point of care ultrasound applications with a live model on-stage; correlating normal anatomy with transducer position and pathology examples simultaneously displayed across multiple screens.Technology Fair -- the best part!
Additionally, a Technology Fair in both Rio and São Paulo allowed attendees the opportunity to directly interact with FUJIFILM-Sonosite products and personnel.
