BOTHELL, WA - November 29, 2005 - Sonosite, Inc. (Nasdaq:SONO), the world leader in hand-carried ultrasound, announced today that is has shipped over 25,000 systems worldwide. The company made the announcement at the 91st Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) being held in Chicago from November 27 to December 2.

Sonosite, the recognized leader and innovator of the hand-carried ultrasound market, shipped its first system in 1999, thereby launching a new era in medical imaging where the benefits of high performance ultrasound could be brought to the point of care, wherever the patient is located, rather than bringing the patient to the ultrasound system. "We thank our customers for helping us reach this milestone event in our company's history," said Kevin M. Goodwin, Sonosite President and CEO.

"By working together, it has been possible to bring the patient care benefits of ultrasound visualization to clinical applications across medicine." Weighing from three to just under 8 pounds, Sonosite's hand-carried systems boot up in seconds, are designed to withstand the rigors of highly mobile use, and can operate on battery power for up to four hours if need be. In a recent independently conducted survey, commissioned by the company, customers gave Sonosite products an overall satisfaction rating of 97% based on image quality, ease of use, durability, reliability and ergonomic transducer design.

The newly introduced MicroMaxx system, Sonosite's third generation of hand-carried technology, even comes with a standard 5-year warranty. "It's clear that Sonosite has the best portable technology on the market," said Chris C. Jensen, MD, Chief of Imaging Services at Kaiser South Bay Medical Center. "The image quality of the MicroMaxx is very comparable to our huge ultrasound systems and its small size makes it less intimidating to the patient.

The other great thing is that the MicroMaxx is very easy to use - you plug it in, turn it on, press a couple of buttons and you're imaging. We originally bought the system for portable studies but keep it busy all day long in the angio suite, guiding deep biopsies of the liver and the majority of all interventional procedures performed here at the hospital." Recently awarded the prestigious 2005 Good Design Award in Japan for the MicroMaxx system, and recognized as the "Fastest Growing Medical Imaging Company" by Frost and Sullivan, Sonosite has built a global franchise by designing powerful, high performing ultrasound systems that are easy to use with the smallest form factor. Sonosite is exhibiting its hand-carried systems at the RSNA booth #5144 from November 27th through December 2.
